The Islamabad High Court has said former Pakistan president retired General Pervez Musharraf had no role in the detention of over 60 judges of the superior courts in 2007.

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has said former Pakistan president retired General Pervez Musharraf had no role in the detention of over 60 judges of the superior courts in 2007.

A division bench of the court released a detailed version of its June 11 short order that accepted a plea for post-arrest bail filed by General Musharraf in the judges’ detention case.
According to Dawn News, the court said there was nothing on record to connect General Musharraf with the detention of judges. It added that there were only statements of some lawyers, but all those statements are based on allegations and cannot be considered as evidence.
Mohammad Aslam Ghumman, the complainant, challenged the IHC order in the Supreme Court.
