Pak: Clash between 2 groups; Bugti grandson killed

A group of armed men gate-crashed a party in the Pakistani port city of Karachi.

Karachi: At least five people, including the grandson of late Baloch nationalist leader Akbar Bugti, were killed and nine others injured when two armed groups clashed during a party in the Pakistani port city of Karachi on Sunday, police said.

Several men who were attending the party at a bungalow in the upscale defence neighbourhood told the media that a group of armed men gate-crashed the event at 2.30 am.

Following a heated exchange, the group that forcibly entered the bungalow opened fire. Four men were killed instantly and 10 others, including Akbar Bugti`s grandson Talay Bugti, were injured.

Talay Bugti later succumbed to his injuries in hospital this morning, police officials said.

City police chief Khalid Mehmood said six persons were taken into custody.
