An anti-terrorist court has issued arrest warrants against 2 police officers.

Rawalpindi: An anti-terrorist court (ATC) in Pakistan has issued warrants for the arrest of two senior police officers in the Benazir Bhutto assassination case.

The court issued the arrest warrant of former CPO Rawalpindi, DIG Syed Saud Aziz and ex-SP Rawal Town Khurram Shahzad, for showing negligence in providing security to former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, a newspaper reports.

The court told the lawyers that on the next date of hearing, charges would be framed against both the police officers as well as five other accused, who have already been arrested in the murder case.
Benazir had sustained injuries in a terrorist attack outside Liaquat Bagh, when she was returning after addressing a public meeting during her election campaign on December 27, 2007. She was rushed to hospital where she succumbed to injuries.
