Islamabad: Pakistan`s Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has approved the recognition of the Republic of South Sudan as the world`s newest independent country.
In a message to the President of South Sudan, Gilani conveyed felicitations on behalf of the people and government of Pakistan and expressed his best wishes for success in nation-building efforts and socio-economic development.
Gilani said the Pakistan government looks forward to working closely with South Sudan at bilateral and multilateral forums to advance the objectives of peace, prosperity and development of people.
