Karachi: Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that terrorist activities in violence-torn Karachi are being directed from within jails.

Malik made these remarks while talking to media representatives following a meeting with Pakistan Muslim League (Functional) chief Pir Pagara.

He said that the government will also launch a crackdown in jails to nab elements behind the bloodbath in Karachi.

The government will chase terrorists until they are eliminated, the Dawn quoted the Interior Minister, as saying.

Speaking on the occasion, Pir Pagara said he was not very hopeful with regard to the situation in Karachi.

The government would have to call in the army to deal with the deteriorating law and order situation, he added.
