Three killed as rival groups clash in Pakistan

Three persons were killed and four others injured when rival groups clashed following a dispute near this northwestern Pakistani city today, police said.

dispute near this northwestern Pakistani city today, police
said.

The incident occurred in Marozai village on the
outskirts of Peshawar.

A `jirga` or tribal council of rival groups led by
Gul Wali and Sher Muhammad was underway to settle a dispute
when the two sides exchanged harsh words.

The jirga then turned into a battleground as
supporters of both groups started firing at each other
indiscriminately.

Three persons were killed instantly.
Police rushed to the site and took the injured to Lady
Reading Hospital. Police also registered case.
