Ties renewed during Saudi Arabia visit: Pak PM

Pakistani PM said Saudi King told him that Riyadh will help Islamabad in all spheres.

Islamabad: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that his visit to Saudi Arabia has renewed the ties between the two countries.

Gilani on Wednesday apprised the federal cabinet about his August 07-09 visit to Saudi Arabia and his meeting with King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, reported Associated Press of Pakistan.

He said King Abdullah told him that Saudi Arabia will help Pakistan in all spheres. He said this visit renewed Pakistan`s bonds with Saudi Arabia which have withstood the test of times.

The Prime Minister said his talks with King Abdullah focused on seeking reactivation of bilateral cooperation with Saudi Arabia in the fields of science, defence, defence production, trade and commerce.

He said he apprised King Abdullah about Pakistan`s efforts to maintain excellent relations with neighbouring countries including India and Afghanistan.
