Zardari’s chief security officer survives life attack

The assailants fled the scene after security forces fired back.

Karachi: Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari’s Chief Security Officer (CSO) Bilal Shaikh came under armed attack by unknown assailants, but escaped unharmed.

Unknown men opened fire at Shaikh while he was on his way from Firdous Colony to Khamosh Colony in Karachi late Saturday, the Dawn reports.

The assailants fled the scene after security forces fired back, leaving behind their car and weapons.

Two security officers named Mehmood and Farooq were injured in the incident, and were shifted to a hospital immediately.

According to PSF leader Faisal Shaikh, a rocket launcher, hand grenade and other weapons were recovered from the assailants’ car.

Talking to Geo News, Bilal Shaikh said that he had been receiving death threats for sometime.

Talking to Samaa TV, Sheikh said that the number of attackers was 10-15.
