Odisha students bag NASA prize in Space Settlement Design Contest

Students of KIIT International School from Odisha have bagged the second prize worldwide with a project `Zenith`s Labyrinth` in the Space Settlement Design Contest organised by the National Space Society of USA in association with NASA.

Bhubaneswar: Students of KIIT International School from Odisha have bagged the second prize worldwide with a project `Zenith`s Labyrinth` in the Space Settlement Design Contest organised by the National Space Society of USA in association with NASA.

The project was developed by six grade eight students of KIIT International School.

To develop the project, the six students - Aman Patnaik, Abhishek Mahapatra, Sai Krishanth PM, Nitish Mohanty, Satwik Gadnayak and Saurik Mishra worked relentlessly for over 12 weeks under guidance of Mr Bejoy Mathur, INLAKS Scholar and Project Coordinator for the School.
The annual contest is for all students up to 12th grade (18 years old) from anywhere in the world, where individuals, small teams of two to five, and large teams of six or more are judged separately.

Zenith`s Labyrinth is a space colony designed by the school students for the contest. The futuristic project captured the attention of renowned scientists who evaluated it along with 400 others from different parts of the world.
As the winners, the students will be going to Los Angeles, USA as delegates to the International Space Development Conference in May, this year, the release said.
