Chennai: 13 candidates are in fray for the March 18 bye-election to Sankarankoil (SC) assembly segment which will witness a four-cornered contest.
"As such, there are 13 candidates in the fray for the election," a release from the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Kumar said.
Saturday was the last day of withdrawal of nominations. All the four major Dravidian parties-- AIADMK, DMK, DMDK and MDMK-- have fielded their nominees for the by-poll which was necessitated following the death of AIADMK minister C Karuppasamy in October last.
