Barnala, CM, leaders greet people

Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and leaders of various political parties today greeted people on New Year`s eve, wishing them peace, progress and prosperity.

political parties today greeted people on New Year`s eve,
wishing them peace, progress and prosperity.

"Let this New Year be a year of peace, progress and
prosperity. It is our dedication,sincerity and commitment that
will make our nation high among the comity of nations. Let us
on the birth of New Year resolve to strengthen bonds of unity
and brotherhood and promote harmony", Barnala said in his New
Year`s message.

Karunanidhi recalled that 2009 was successful for the DMK,
which won the Lok Sabha polls and Tiruchendur and Vandavasai
by-polls and said that the year 2010 would witness many
important events like the inauguration of a new Secretariat
building, Anna Centenary Library building and also hosting of
the World Classical Tamil Conference in June in Coimbatore.

He spelt out the achievements of his government with the
launch of emergency ambulance services `108` and Chief
Minister`s Insurance Scheme and asked the people to take a
pledge to work for "peace" and "harmony" in the new year.

AIADMK General secretary Jayalalithaa in her message,said
"let happiness, love, humanity and communal religious harmony
prosper in the new year".
