New Delhi: Congress members in the Lok Sabha on Friday raised the issue of an attack on a Tamil news channel in Chennai and sought a reply from the government in the matter.

Congress member KC Venugopal raised the matter shortly after question hour and demanded a response from the government. But Speaker Sumitra Mahajan told him that no notice had been given for any discussion.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said it was a state government matter.

"It is not there on the agenda," he said.

To this, Congress leader of the house Mallikarjun Kharge said: "We are not attacking the state government. The question is that always such things are happening in this country. You are allowing this."

Two tiffin-box crude bombs were hurled at the office of Tamil news channel Puthiya Thalaimurai on Thursday morning. Though the bombs exploded, no one was injured nor was any property damaged.

Police said a person from the Hindu Youth Sena surrendered to a court in Madurai in connection with the bomb attack.
