Karuna takes a dig at AIADMK over power situation

Karunanidhi referred to CM Jayalalithaa`s recent announcement that there would be no power cut from 2013, and asked "what will she say in 2013?"

Chennai: Taking a dig at the ruling AIADMK on
the power front, DMK chief M Karunanidhi on Wednesday said the
prevailing power scenario was a "good example" of the
government`s `achievements.`

"In the budget presented in August last, it was mentioned
that power cuts would come down in phases in 2012, and there
would be no power cut at all by August of this year," he said.

Writing in his party organ `Murasoli,` Karunanidhi
referred to Chief Minister Jayalalithaa`s recent announcement
that there would be no power cut from 2013, and asked "what
will she say in 2013?"

On reports about eight-hour power cuts in the state, he
said this would affect about 40,000 industrial units in
Coimbatore.

"Are these not good examples of AIADMK government`s
achievements?" he asked sarcastically.
