Chennai: NIA officials Friday detained a person in connection with the 2014 blast outside a CRPF campus in Kolkata where NIA officials were staying, police said.
The man was picked up from Madhavaram here after receiving specific inputs, a senior police officer said on condition of anonymity.
"He hails from Kolkata and was picked up by NIA officials," the officer said without divulging further details.
In November 2014, an explosion occurred outside a CRPF camp where NIA officials investigating the Bardhaman blast case were put up. None was injured in the incident.
It was seen an apparent retaliation to the arrest of Jamaat-ul Mujahideen Bangladesh suspects in connection with the Bardhaman blast in October that year.
