Newborn boy found dumped in garbage bin in Tamil Nadu

Salem: A newborn boy was on Tuesday found abandoned in a waste bin at the new bus stand here, police said.

A ragpicker, Raja, spotted the baby and took it to the police station. An ambulance was requisitioned and the infant, thought to be 22 days old, admitted to the Government Hospital here, they said.

Hospital sources told PTI that the health condition of the newborn was good.
The boy would be sent to Cradle Baby Centre, run by the social welfare department, they added.
