New Delhi: A lawyer from Tamil Nadu Wednesday urged the Supreme Court that he be heard before any order is
passed on the likely appeal of top lawyer RK Chandramohan,
suspended from the bar for allegedly attempting to influence a
Madras High Court judge by invoking former telecom minister A
Raja`s name.

The lawyer Elephant Rajendran, on whose petition
Chandramohan was on Tuesday suspended by the Madras High
Court from the bar and chairmanship of the Bar Council of
Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, filed a caveat urging the court to
hear him before any order is passed.

A caveat is an application moved by any party or
individual urging the court in advance not to pass any order
without hearing the caveat-or.

On Tuesday, adding to the embarrassment to Raja
embroiled in 2G spectrum scam, the Madras High Court suspended
Chandramohan for allegedly attempting to influence then judge
Justice S Reghupati by taking the name of Raja.

A Division Bench, comprising Justice FM Ibrahim
Khalifulla and Justice MM Sundaresh, while ordering his
suspension had directed that he shall not be permitted to
function, pending the disciplinary action by the Bar Council
of India.
