Chennai: Tamil Nadu's ruling AIADMK on Monday changed eight more candidates for the May 16 assembly elections.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and party general secretary J. Jayalalithaa announced the new names here.

The new candidates are: K. Ravi (Arakkonam), P. Palaniappan (Papparapatti), P. Mohan (Sankarapuram), K.V. Ramalingam (Erode West), N. Natarajan (Trichy East), S.P. Shanmuganathan (Sri Vaikundam), Kadambur Raju (Kovilpatti) and S.K.A. Hyder Ali (Pallaymkottai).

On April 4, the AIADMK announced candidates for 227 of the 234 assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu and all 30 seats in Puducherry for the May 16 poll.

Later, Jayalalithaa changed 10 candidates in Tamil Nadu and three in Puducherry.
