Kanchipuram (TN): In a shocking incident, a 13-year-old girl student was allegedly raped repeatedly by a teacher in her school with the girl revealing her ordeal after she was found to be pregnant, police said on Saturday.
The accused 35-year-old teacher has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody yesterday, they said.
The Class VII student of a government school near Sriperumbudur here was raped multiple times on different occasions by the teacher in the computer room, police said.
She disclosed her harrowing experience to her parents after doctors confirmed she was two months pregnant. She was taken to a hospital after she began vomiting frequently, they said.
The victim identified the teacher as N Loganathan, a father of three.
The accused was arrested under several provisions of law, including those under the IPC, POCSO Act 2012, SC and ST Act, police said.
Loganathan was arrested and remanded to judicial custody in the district sub-Jail after being produced before a court yesterday.
