TN government orders deportation of Nigerians

Tamil Nadu government on Friday ordered deportation of three Nigerians lodged in a Special Camp for Refugees at Thiruvannamalai District for overstaying in violation of visa regulations.

Chennai: Tamil Nadu government on Friday ordered deportation of three Nigerians lodged in a Special Camp for Refugees at Thiruvannamalai District for overstaying in violation of visa regulations.

Oladato Obasoto alias Richard, Dickson M Dickson and Abiodun Oluwagbemiga alias Jerry, all in their late twenties, were ordered to be deported.

"The deportation order was issued today by us after completion of due enquiry process as stipulated under law," a Tamil Nadu government revenue department official told PTI.

The trio had come here few years ago and enrolled themselves for a graduation course at a reputed college here.

However, they shifted to the textile town of Tirupur and were doing odd jobs. They came to the adverse notice of Q Branch Police officials as they were involved in a brawl and other incidents.

Later, they were shifted to the Special Camp in Cheyyar in Tiruvannamalai District. "They will be brought here with police escort tomorrow and put on a flight to Nigeria", they said.
