Erode: Election officials have seized unaccounted cash amounting to Rs 15.24 lakh during vehicle checks in the district.
The seizure was made during a routine check in Nasiyanure check post officials intercepted a car of S Periyasamy owner of a rice mill last night, Narmadha, Revenue Divisional Officer and Returning Officer for Erode West assembly constituency said today.
Periyasamy could not provide necessry documents regarding the cash. It was deposited in the Treasury and would be returned to him after provinding the documents.
