Union Minister welcomes Khushbu's remarks on common civil code

On the Cauvery water-sharing issue, the Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways said the more than 40-year-old dispute could not be expected to be solved in four months.

Tuticorin: Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan Monday welcomed Congress spokesperson Khushbu's reported statement supporting the common civil code.

"Khushbu's statement on common civil code should be welcomed by all," he told reporters here referring to the actress-turned-politician favouring such a code.

On the Cauvery water-sharing issue, the Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways said the more than 40-year-old dispute could not be expected to be solved in four months.

He claimed that the Congress would be voted out of power in Karnataka in the next polls.

Later talking to newsmen in Madurai, he said youngsters in Tiruparankunram, going to bypoll on November 19, should form a team and prevent disbursement of money to voters.
