Woman naxalite surrenders in Telangana

Warangal: Disillusioned with the Maoist ideology and ill-health, a woman naxalite from Karimnagar-Khamam Dalam today surrendered before Telangana Police here.

Kunjum Edumen alias Kavitha turned in before Rural Superintendent of Police-Warangal Ambar Kishore Jha.

Kavitha joined as a member of the group in 2011-12 and worked in Venkatapur area of Khammam district.

A native of Marlagudem in Eturunagaram Mandal here, the outlaw was involved in firing incidents in Chhattisgarh with B Chokka Rao alias Dhamodhar, Secretary for Karimnagar-Khammam area, police said.

Kavitha said she chose to surrender because of her deteriorating health and wrong policies and programmes of the Maoists.
