All those in CMO post will be treated as Addl CMO: UP govt

Lucknow: After scrapping the post of Chief Medical Officer (Family Welfare), Uttar Pradesh government has issued an order stating that all those on the post would be treated as Additional CMO.

"All those on the post of CMO Family Welfare will now be designated as Additional CMO," an order issued by Director General, Family welfare, Dr Usha Narain said.

Two doctors--Vinod Arya and BP Singh posted as CMO, Family Welfare were murdered in the last five months leading to detection of large scale financial irregularities in the
department.

While Arya was murdered in October last year, Singh was murdered on April 2.

The post of CMO Family Welfare had been scrapped by the Mayawati government early this week.
