BHU reinstates Students Council Gen Secy

Varanasi: Following an order by the Allahabad High Court, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has reinstated Vikas Singh as the Students Council General Secretary.
"Vice-Chancellor Dr Lallji Singh has decided to reinstate Vikas as the General Secretary for the remaining tenure of the Council," Prof Rajesh Singh, chairman of the PPP Cell, said.

Vikas, who had been removed on April 7 from the post for allegedly giving false information in his affidavit during university elections, was reinstated yesterday.

He had approached the court following his ouster by the administration, a move which saw stiff protests from the university`s students.
