BJP workers in Kanpur dissapointed over non-representation in cabinet

The BJP workers here were left disappointed over the non-representation of names of senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi and Devendra Singh Bhole in the cabinet reshuffle.

Kanpur: The BJP workers here were left disappointed over the non-representation of names of senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi and Devendra Singh Bhole in the cabinet reshuffle.

Despite winning seats in the LS elections from the two constituencies of Kanpur and breaking the 15-year-old Congress and BSP rule, the two MPs were not inducted in the yesterday's cabinet reshuffle.

Senior BJP leader Murli, who defeated Congress leader Sriprakash Jaiswal, was not a part of swearing-in.

Jaiswal was elected three times MP from Kanpur Nagar Lok Sabha constituency and have been inducted in the cabinet as Minister of State for Home Affairs, later elevated to coal minister.

BJP leader Devendra Singh Bhole also registered win from Kanpur Rural LS constituency beating Congress and BSP candidates, but was left out of the central ministries.

Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, who was sworn in as an MoS in the Narendra Modi government, contested and won from Kanpur's neighbour Fatehpur seat.

"So what if we are not a part of the cabinet. We are happy for Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti from Fatehpur to be inducted in the cabinet," BJP leader Bhole said.

"The decision by the central leadership will be best for the party. Our people here are not disappointed," he added.

The city president of Bhartiya Janata Party, Surendra Maithani, said "when a leader becomes an MP from a seat, it brings development to the city, and there is enthusiasm among workers too. But bringing funds to the city won't be a big problem because of the senior leadership of Joshi."
