BSP`s absence from the fray led to SP`s win in bypoll: Maurya

Taking a dig at SP`s claims of making the next government in Uttar Pradesh following its victory in two assembly by-elections yesterday, BSP on Wednesday said the party`s absence from the fray helped SP to retain the seats.

Lucknow: Taking a dig at Samajwadi Party`s
claims of making the next government in Uttar Pradesh
following its victory in two assembly by-elections yesterday,
BSP on Wednesday said the party`s absence from the fray helped SP to
retain the seats.
"Samajwadi Party knows well that it was because of the
absence of the BSP from the by elections and the sympathy for
the two sitting MLAs whose death had necessitated the polls
which helped it retain them yet it (SP) is going all out and
making false claims", BSP state unit president Swami Prasad
Maurya said in a statement.

Recalling the performance of BSP in all the by elections
held in the state so far, Maurya said that had it (BSP) been
in the fray, SP nominees would have lost their deposits.

Terming the SP claims that the results of the by
elections were indicative of things to come as ridiculous,
Maurya said that people of the state still remember the
misgovernance of the previous Samajwadi Party government and
are not ready to forgive them.
On Congress, Maurya said that these by elections have
taken the air out of the sails of its mission-2012 and have
given their verdict on the wrong policies of the UPA
government as well as the scams plaguing it.

"This is the reason as to why the Congress candidate
lost his deposit even in its stronghold ,Lakhimpur",Maurya
said adding that people know that if given a chance , Congress
would do the same in Uttar Pradesh.
