Muzaffarnagar: Four policemen were injured after they were allegedly attacked by a group of people when they went to arrest four men accused of cow slaughtering at Nagla Village in the district, police said on Monday.
Four policemen, including a sub-inspector, were injured when the accused, joined by few others, resisted police attempt to arrest them and pelted stones at the policemen yesterday, DSP Shailendra Lal said here today.
The four accused have been booked for cow slaughtering and a case of attempt to murder has also been registered against them, he said.
The accused managed to escape and a search is on to nab them, he said.
Security has been tightened in the area and extra policemen have been deployed, he added.
