DA hike for UP small scale industrial workers

Monthly dearness allowance (DA) of workers engaged in 59 different small scale industries in Uttar Pradesh has been increased, state labour commissioner said.

Kanpur: Monthly dearness allowance (DA) of
workers engaged in 59 different small scale industries in
Uttar Pradesh has been increased, state labour commissioner
said on Thursday.

The increase in the DA which is paid along with the
basic salary will range from Rs 154.41 to Rs 195.39 depending
on the category of workers, S R Meena said.

Skilled workers will be entitled to DA of Rs 1708.03
in addition to the monthly salary of Rs 3,290, while
semi-skilled workers will receive the DA of Rs 1538.78 in
addition to a salary of Rs 2,964, the commissioner said.

Workers belonging to unskilled category will be
entitled to Rs 1,349.81 DA in addition to a monthly salary of
Rs 2600, Meena said.

The revised DA will be paid for the period effective
from first October, 2010 till 31st March, 2011 following which
it will be revised.

Employees working in petrol pumps, dairies, automobile
factories, bakeries, flour mills, brik kilns, soap
manufacturing units, rubber, plywood, power loom and glass
industries, among others will benefit from the hike.
