Doctors of Provincial Medical Service to get four promotions

 To boost the morale of doctors of Provincial Medical Service, Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday approved change in their promotion policy.

Lucknow: To boost the morale of doctors of Provincial Medical Service, Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday approved change in their promotion policy.

The cabinet meeting presided over by the Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has decided to grant four time-bound promotions to the officials of the Provincial Medical Service instead of three, principal secretary of cane development department, Rahul Bhatnagar said while briefing newspersons here.

Unlike the time bound promotions in other services of the state in 10, 16 and 26 years of service, the doctors of PMS would now get four promotions in 4, 11, 17 and 24 years, he said.

The official said that 11,265 doctors of the PMS would benefit from this change in policy which would put an extra burden of Rs 72 crores on the state exchequer.
