Muzaffarnagar: A government primary health centre was found locked and its staff members, including the doctor, absent during a surprise check by the Chief Medical Officer at Tissa in the district.

Muzaffarnagar: A government primary health centre was found locked and its staff members, including the doctor, absent during a surprise check by the Chief Medical Officer at Tissa in the district.

The CMO conducted a surprise check yesterday and found that the government PHC at Tissa was locked and its doctor-in-charge Arvind Singhal and other staff members missing, CMO Subodh Kumar said today.

During the checking five doctors working at other PHC's were also found absent from duty and two support staff members.

One day's salary would be deducted from their accounts for dereliction of duty, he said.

An inquiry will be held in the case, he said.
