HC gives 2 months` time to CBI in Sachan case

The court fixed Nov 9 for hearing an application seeking further time to complete investigations into alleged NRHM scam in Family Welfare.

Lucknow: The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad
High Court on Tuesday gave two months` time to the CBI to
complete investigations into the murders of two CMOs and a
deputy CMO.

The court also fixed November nine for hearing an
application seeking further time to complete investigations
into alleged NRHM scam in the office of CMO Lucknow, Family
Welfare.

A division bench comprising justice Pradip Kant and
and justice Rituraj Awasthi passed the orders on the
application moved by the CBI seeking more time to complete the
investigations into murders of CMOs VK Arya, BP Singh and
deputy CMO YS Sachan.

The High Court on the PIL of an NGO had handed over the
investigations to the CBI on July 27 with directions for
completing them in three months` time.

While Arya was murdered in October last year, Singh was
shot dead on April two last.

Soon after, an FIR was lodged regarding financial
irregularities in the National Rural Health Mission in the
office of CMO Lucknow, Family Welfare.

Sachan was arrested immediately after allegations of
irregularities in the department surfaced. On June 22, he was
found dead in the Lucknow district jail in mysterious
circumstances.
