Impossible to achieve target through short-term coaching: UP CS

Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan on Saturday advised students to avoid resorting to "short-term coaching" and achieve their target with dedication and talent.

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan on Saturday advised students to avoid resorting to "short-term coaching" and achieve their target with dedication and talent.

Addressing students of Navodaya Vidyalaya in an advisory and guidance workshop, Ranjan said the students should fix their target while studying in intermediate, adding, with dedication and talent it is not impossible to achieve the identified target.

"It was not possible to achieve any target through short term coaching," he said.

"If there is a will to serve the common people and society, students should target civil services and prepare accordingly," he said.

The chief secretary said that he resigned from a good job in private sector after completing his MBA to enter civil services and started preparation from a rented room in a garage in New Delhi.

"Ignoring suggestions of not to resign, I took the path of struggle to achieve the target," he added.
