New Delhi/Lucknow: While both Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle Shivpal have downplayed reports of rift within the Yadav clan, reports on Wednesday said that party leader Amar Singh may be behind the ongoing power tussle in Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav's family.
UP CM Akhilesh himself threw enough indications in this regard when he said, ''Where have you found a family fight? This is a fight in government, not a family fight.''
Akhilesh further said, "If people from outside the family keep interfering how will things (government) work".
UP CM's remarks triggered speculation that he was hinting at the involvement of SP's Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh and a bureaucrat named Deepak Singhal.
Amar Singh too said today that he was with both Shivpal and Akhilesh. Calling himself a staunch loyalist of 'Netaji', Singh said that he has not committed a crime by supporting both Akhilesh and Shivpal.
It is believed that UP CM does not share a good rapport with Singh and was opposed to his re-entry into the Samawadi Party recently – something which was overlooked by Mulayam and backed by Shivpal.
Meanwhile, senior Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Yadav is currently meeting his brother Mulayam Singh Yadav to decide on his future role in the party.
Shivpal earlier this morning said that he is not angry with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and will abide by any decision taken by his brother and Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Shivpal Yadav, a top minister and a key figure in the ruling Samajwadi Party, made these remarks shortly after arriving at the IGI airport to meet his brother Mulayam.
Earlier, Akhilesh Yadav too denied reports of any rift within his family and said that all members of the Yadav clan stand united and follow instructions of Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav.
