Lucknow: Parveen Azad, the wife of slain Kunda Deputy Superintendent of Police Zia-ul-Haque, has said that she is still hopeful about the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filing supplementary chargesheets in the case that will ensure that former Uttar Pradesh minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya is nailed.
Azad was reacting to the CBI not naming Raja Bhaiyya in the two chargesheets filed in connection with her husband`s murder case on Friday.
Haque was murdered on March 02 after he went to Balipur village in Kunda following the murder of village pradhan Nanhe Yadav. Suresh Yadav, the brother of Nanhe, too, was killed in the incident.
In her FIR, Azad had named Raja Bhaiyya as a conspirator in her husband`s murder and his four associates as those who had beaten up and actually killed her husband.
Raja Bhaiyya had to resign as Food and Civil Supplies Minister after the FIR was lodged.
"From day one, I have been saying that Raja Bhaiyya is involved in the incident. I will stick to my statement till the case is decided by the court," Azad said.
"I have not seen the chargesheet and can only rely on the media reports. My lawyer has told me that there will be more chargesheets in the case; I am waiting for all the chargesheets," she added.
Azad did not comment on the CBI`s application seeking a polygraph test on Raja Bhaiyya.
"The CBI is investigating the case and, thankfully, they are doing it quickly. The investigation tools being used by them is their decision. I cannot comment on it. I, however, keep myself informed of the developments through the media," she said.
