Last rites of two IAF personnel performed

The last rites of two Indian Air Force personnel, who died in a helicopter crash in Ataria area of Sitapur district, was on Sunday performed here with full military honours.

Bareilly: The last rites of two Indian Air Force personnel, who died in a helicopter crash in Ataria area of Sitapur district, was on Sunday performed here with full military honours.

While last rites of Commanding Officer Wing Commander T N B Singh was performed by his father Digambar Singh, that of Junior Warrant Officer P Mukherjee was performed by his 10-year-old son.

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Textile Santosh Gangwar and Uttar Pradesh Minister of State Bhagwat Sharan Gangwar attended the last rites and consoled the bereaved families.
Earlier, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha arrived at Air Force Station, Bareilly, to pay homage to the deceased personnel of IAF helicopter crash.

He was accompanied by President, Air Force Wives Welfare Association, Lily Raha.

The bodies of Wing Commander T N B Singh, Junior Warrant Officer P Mukherjee and Corporal Manoj Yadav were brought from Lucknow to Bareilly.
Meanwhile, the mortal remains of Squadron Leader R Manu, Sergeant D Panda, Corporal R K Singh and Leading Air Craftsman D L Naidu were escorted to their respective hometowns.
