Manohar Parrikar lands in UP, to file RS nomination

 Newly inducted Union Minister and former Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar arrived here on Sunday to file his nomination for Rajya Sabha.

Lucknow: Newly inducted Union Minister and former Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar arrived here on Sunday to file his nomination for Rajya Sabha.

Parrikar will file his nomination at 11 am tomorrow at Vidhan Sabha, party spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said.

Parrikar, accompanied by another Union Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy, was accorded grand welcome by BJP workers on his arrival at Amausi airport this evening.

Talking to the reporters, Parrikar said he was fortunate to represent Uttar Pradesh in Rajya Sabha and would fulfill whatever responsibility is given to him.

In reply to a question, he said politics should not be done on cleanliness drive launched by the Prime Minister as it was a good thing and necessary for the health of the people.

Union Minister Rudy expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for expressing his faith in him and inducting him in the Cabinet.
