Noida Extn: HC delays hearing on 2 villages’ land Zeenews Bureau

New Delhi: The Allahabad High Court, Wednesday, postponed its verdict on the legality of land acquisition in two villages of the Greater Noida area popularly known as Noida Extension.

The High Court will announce its verdict on July 26 on the plea of farmers and villagers from Roja Yaqubpur and Bisarakh Jalalpur villages, who went to court against the Noida Authority’s decision to acquire their land.

The court had already cancelled land acquisition in some other villages of Greater Noida in earlier judgements. And tomorrow the HC will hear pleas of farmers from Itheda, Haidarpur and four other villages.

On Tuesday, the High Court had quashed acquisition of nearly 600 hectare of land in Patwari and Dewla villages, falling under Dadri tehsil of Gautambuddh Nagar district.

The verdicts have come as a big jolt to builders and prospective home owners. Several builders have launched their housing projects in affected villages and thousands of people have made bookings in the upcoming dwelling units, some of which are either in various phases of construction or in the drawing board stage.

In total, pleas challenging the acquisition of almost 2,000 acres of land in Greater Noida and surrounding areas, popularly called Noida Extension, have been filed in the HC. It is believed that around 2.5 lakh flats are to be built on the land in question.

Yesterday’s order came barely a fortnight after the Supreme Court had struck down acquisition of 156 hectare of land by the state government in village Shahberi in the area, saying the authorities were “subserving” private builders in the name of public interest.

The apex court had on July 6 upheld the Allahabad HC order which had quashed the land acquisition by the Greater Noida authority under the urgency clause of the Land Acquisition Act and directed that the property be returned to the farmers.

It had also said the builders should return back the money collected towards the sale of flats in the village.

The issues being dealt by the HC include acquisition of farming and other land by the state government without giving farmers and villagers an opportunity to raise their objections and without being offered adequate compensation.

rahul gandhi is helping rich farmers because they are vote banks. the buyers are mostly middle class and lower middle class who have invested their life long savings and white money. but they are not votebanks so nobody is listening to them. the need of the hour is to unite and make these selfish people listen by whatever means

dear frds, don`t blame any of the party as it is game plan of all parties. no one sits on beficial post to help common man. politicians are one the big thief in white dress. so i`ll suggest you to dont get depress as it is clear that all your money is safe and you can have the same from builders. if at any stage builder refuses you can seek legal help. but of the all the most imp is all investors who has put their hard earning in this should stand together against builders. keep in mind, don`t leave even a single person in between until all get their refund. leave interest and save your base value and repay your loans to be happy.

this judgement is an advice to the government to act with greater responsibility in the future. the function of the govt. is to protect the interest of the poor farmers as well as the needy purchasers who have invested their hard earned money to purchase flats for satisfying their living needs. the common masses should be a victim of state-corporate nexus. the growth and welfare of the general public and downtrodden section needs to be the top priority of our leaders not just in terms of pronouncements but in terms of practices also.the ethical governance is required for comprehensive growth.

one simple question, if the land was disputed, why there was no stay on construction and booking of flats? also, why farmers didnt asked for such an stay in the court? so they waited till a sizeable development happens on the land and then keep 100000 people hope and maney on ransom. i see a vicious nexus of authority, builders and state govt. also court and so called farmer leades cant be assumed to be out of that nexus. afetrall we live in a country where involvement of judiciary in curruption is not uncommon...if it is not so why the same bech of allahabad hc hear all the cases ... why cant they appoint another bech who may bring missing points in the decisions of the hc>

i think that there is a high level politics has been played to remove mayawati govt from up and congress will made there set up in up and after the election in up these farmers will again become a verdict and there land will be aquised again and these builder will build those flats at that time and will make a large money.
