Parts of UP receive rain, water level rising in major rivers

Water level in river Ganga is rising in Dalmau (Raebareli), Allahabad, Varnasi, Mirzapur, Ghazipur and Ballia.

Lucknow: Heavy rains occurred in parts of Uttar Pradesh today with water level in rivers Sharda and Ken flowing above danger mark in the state.

According to a Central Water Commission (CWC) report, the rainfall recieved at Kaanur Dehat was 28.4 mm, Kanpur 13 mm, Auraiya 13 mm, Jalaun 26 mm, Neemsar 31.6 mm, Bahraich 36.2 mm.

While water level in river Ganga is rising in Dalmau (Raebareli), Allahabad, Varnasi, Mirzapur, Ghazipur and Ballia, that in Yamuna is rising in Mathura, Agra, Auraiya, Hamirpur and Banda.
Ken river is flowing above danger mark in Banda while Sharda is flowing above the danger mark in Palliakana (Kheri) in Sharda Nagar.

Similarly, the water level in Ghagra river is near danger mark in Elgin Bridge (Barbanki), Ayodhya (Faizabad) and Ballia.
