Provide security to rape survivors: UPSWC to Police

The Uttar Pradesh State Women Commission (UPSWC) on Friday directed the police chiefs of those districts, where incidents of rape have taken place, to provide security to the victims while ensuing justice for them.

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh State Women Commission (UPSWC) on Friday directed the police chiefs of those districts, where incidents of rape have taken place, to provide security to the victims while ensuing justice for them.

UPSWC Chairman Zarina Usmani today said she spoke to Superintendents of Police of Sultanpur, Gonda, Muzaffarnagar, Rampur, Sambhal, Auraiya, Unnao, Amethi and Allabahad, where rape incidents were reported recently, and directed them to provide full security to victim`s family.

Usmani said, after a number of rape incidents in the state, the UPSWC took suo motu cognisance and asked the SPs of concerned district to sent their report where such incidents have taken place.

The Commission also directed the district police chiefs to ensure that those involved in such heinous act were brought to book.
