Revenue clerk suspended in Hastinapur land grab scam

A revenue clerk has been suspended by the district authorities in connection with the land grabbing case at Hastinapur Sanctuary even as two other officials were booked for their involvement in the scam.

Muzaffarnagar: A revenue clerk has been suspended by the district authorities in connection with the land grabbing case at Hastinapur Sanctuary even as two other officials were booked for their involvement in the scam.

Clerk Shiv Kumar has been suspended for his involvement in government land grabbing case at Khatoli yesterday, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Vaibhav Sharma told reporters here.

Earlier, Kumar was shifted to Khatoli tehsil from Jansath after grabbing scam was unearthed by the district authorities.

Previously, three revenue clerks Jaibhagwan, Promod and Ramesh Kumar have already suspended in this connection.

Meanwhile, the then Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Jansath Devender Kumar, then tehsildar Bharat Bhushan have been booked in connection with land grabbing, Additional District Magistrate (Finance) R K Sharma said.

A case was lodged against the officials at Bhopa police station, he said.

So far, 1200 bigha government land has been freed from unauthorised possession, out of which sugarcane crop grown on 600 bigha was later found by the district authorities.
