Scuffle outside Rahul’s function venue in Lucknow

Lucknow: Activists of Leftist groups raised slogans against inflation and corruption outside
the venue of Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi`s
interactive session with students here on Tuesday morning.

As soon as the session came to an end and Gandhi`s
cavalcade started coming out of the venue, `Ravindralaya`, the
activists of All India Students` Association (AISA) and
Inqalibi Naujawan Sabha carrying banners, raised slogans but
were promptly chased away by the police.

AISA in-charge Sudhanshu Bajpai and state president of
the Inqalabi Navjawan Sabha, Bal Mukund Dhuriya said they were
protesting against scams and inflation.

The need of the hour, they said, was to provide
employment to the youth rather than this "interaction drama"
by the Congress leaders.

Students, who could not make an entry into the
interactive session, also staged a protest against the district
police.

"We wanted to meet the young leader to seek his help
in resolving our problems but that has been denied by the
local police," they said.
