SP to contest 2017 UP Assembly elections alone: Akhilesh Yadav

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday said the Samajwadi Party (SP) will contest the coming 2017 Assembly elections in the state alone on the basis of its development works.

Etawah: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday said the Samajwadi Party (SP) will contest the coming 2017 Assembly elections in the state alone on the basis of its development works.

"Samajwadi Party will not join hands with any other party in the coming Vidhan Sabha elections .. . we will go alone and contest on the development works done by our government", Yadav told newspersons on the sidelines of a programme.

"Our government has done a lot of work... fulfilled the promises made in the election manifesto... why are the other parties not talking about development, they too should have concern for it," Yadav said.

The chief minister who attended the first ever "International Sarus seminar" said that his government was working towards conservation of wetlands which help in agriculture, environment and wildlife and promised that suggestions coming forward in the seminar will be followed.
