Two persons died in Ghazipur district, as temperature dropped considerably in major parts of Uttar Pradesh, official sources said here on Tuesday.

While 20-year-old Babloo Chauhan died in Nemhara area
last night, another person Shivpujan (50) died in Bhudkuda
village of Ghazipur district due to intense cold, taking the
total toll to 12, they said.

With minimum temperature hovering around 2 degree
Celsius, Shahjahanpur was the coldest place in the state,
followed by Meerut, which recorded a minimum temperature of
2.6 degree Celsius, four notches below normal.

Bareilly recorded a minimum of 6.4 degree Celsius, which
was three degrees below normal, while at Agra, minimum
temperature was 6.0 degree Celsius, two notches below normal.

Lucknow hit a low of 4.6 degree Celsius, two notches
below the normal mark.
