UP: Nagar Panchayat chairman booked in missing files case

A case has been registered against the chairman of Khatauli Nagar Panchayat in connection with missing of 150 official files belonging to different departments of the governing body.

Muzaffarnagar: A case has been registered against the chairman of Khatauli Nagar Panchayat in connection with missing of 150 official files belonging to different departments of the governing body.

Executive officer of the Panchayat AK Rai yesterday lodged an FIR with the police against the Chairman Paras Jain after the aforesaid number of files were found missing, according to sub-divisional magistrate Vaibhav Sharma.

In his complaint, Rai alleged that Jain had not returned the files after seeking to go through them in his capacity as the authority.

Further investigation into the matter is underway, Sharma said.

The state government previously had seized the financial powers of Jain on the recommendation of district authorities to remove him from the post following corruption charges.
