Saharanpur: Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday launched its poll campaign for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2017, with party president Amit Shah hitting out at the Yadav family and Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati.

Addressing the BJP supporters here, Shah launched a scathing attack on Samajwadi Party family saying, what the ruling party cannot follow the development path as uncle (Shivpal Yadav) and nephew (Akhilesh Yadav) are busy fighting with each other.

Taking pot shots at BSP and SP, the BJP president said, while uncle and nephew are busy abusing each other, 'bua ji' (Mayawati) is also busy hurling abuses at the duo.

"SP and BSP cannot improve law and order of Uttar Pradesh. Only BJP can provide a UP free from hooliganism," Shah asserted.

He urged the electorate to vote for BJP so that development can be carried out at fast pace in Uttar Pradesh.

“Vote for BJP as it is the only party which can put UP at the top slot in overall development,” Shah exhorted.

While advocating for abolition of triple talaq practice, Shah said Muslim women should get their rights.

"Hue and cry was raised over BJP govt's stand on triple talaq, vote bank politics should not be done on women's rights," Shah opined.

Accusing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of playing politics over OROP and ex-Armyman Ram Kishan's alleged suicide, the BJP president said, Rahul is talking about OROP, but it is the BJP government which implemented the policy whereas Congress dragged it for decades.

“A soldier commits suicide and they are doing politics for vote bank, this is disgusting, the BJP president said.

With an eye on the 2017 Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh, Shah launched Parivartan Yatra' from Saharanpur today.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Kalraj Mishra, Keshav Prasad Maurya, Sanjeev Balyan and Sangeet Som were present at the event.

The BJP will launch four 'Parivartan Yatras' from Saharanpur, Lalitpur, Sonebhadra and Ballia.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to address multiple public rallies during the 'Parivartan Yatras'.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address six regional meetings during the 192-day-long exercise ending in December 24, while Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Kalraj Mishra, two leading saffron faces from the state, will be the key speaker at 10 meetings each.

The BJP president will address 10 other rallies. The party has planned 30 rallies of its national leaders. Uma Bharti will attend six of them.

BJP has 71 Lok Sabha MPs from the state which has 80 seats.

BJP allies Ram Vilas Paswan and Ramdas Athawale, two Dalit faces of the NDA, and Uprendra Kushwaha will also be joining the yatras.
