Lucknow: The Special Task Force (STF) of
Uttar Pradesh police on Wednesday arrested a shooter of Chota Shakeel
gang wanted in a murder case in Mumbai.
On a tip off, Ruaab Ali - a native of Basti district, who
had been hiding in Lucknow and Siddhartnagar, was arrested
near Polytechnic crossing here early this morning after an
encounter, police said.
Ali, who had been supplying arms and shooters to the Chota
Shakeel gang, had on February 2, 2011 fired at Mumbai builder
Manish Dholakia on the directives of the gangster in his New
Marine Lines office in which the builder's bodyguard was
killed.
He had been in jail for two years, they said adding that a
country-made pistol and some cartridges were recovered from
him.
The Mumbai police have been informed of the arrest, they
added.
