‘What`s need for PM to say he is not a lame-duck?’

Senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi on Saturday sought to know why there was a need for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to say he was not a "lame-duck PM".

Ranchi: Senior BJP leader Murli Manohar
Joshi on Saturday sought to know why there was a need for Prime
Minister Manmohan Singh to say he was not a "lame-duck PM".

"Whatever he says the nation is watching. A Prime
Minister should act like a Prime Minister. What is the
necessity for him to say that he isn`t a lame-duck (PM)?"
Joshi said at a press conference here.

On the Prime Minister saying that AICC General Secretary
Rahul Gandhi should take his place, Joshi said, "That`s their
internal issue."

On the Lok Pal Bill, he said, "There are differences
of opinion between the UPA government and Anna Hazare. Let
them first submit a final draft and place it in the
Parliament.

"In the first place, the government or Anna Hazare
should have taken the opinion of political parties. To hide
their failure, they are now seeking the opinion of political
parties after sitting together," Joshi said.

The BJP leader said that his party had already discussed
the Lok Pal Bill but would reveal its stand only after the
government places the draft in parliament.
