Will never allow UP to become PM Modi's state: SP chief

Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on Tuesday said he will never allow Uttar Pradesh to become the state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Kannauj: Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on Tuesday said he will never allow Uttar Pradesh to become the state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"BJP might try everything it wants but Uttar Pradesh would not be allowed to become the state of Narendra Modi. UP would always remain as that of the SP and not of Modi's," Yadav told a gathering while on his way to Lucknow from Saifai (Etawah).

The SP chief said Akhilesh Yadav government was committed for the development of the state and laying special emphasis on development work.

Stressing that Kannauj had importance due to the association of socialist leader Ram Manohar Lohia, Yadav said it would not be allowed to lag behind in the development race.

"The chief minister was himself taking keen interest in the development work here," he added.

Kannauj is the parliamentary constituency of Yadav's daughter-in-law, Dimple Yadav.
