Youth hacks teenage sister to death

In a suspected case of dishonour killing, an 18-year-old girl was hacked to death allegedly by her brother over her relationship with a youth in their locality, police said on Thursday.

Muzaffarnagar: In a suspected case of dishonour killing, an 18-year-old girl was hacked to death allegedly by her brother over her relationship with a youth in their locality, police said on Thursday.

Wasim (26) was arrested on Wednesday for killing his sister Arzu Perveen on July 28 in Kidwainagar, they said.

Sharp weapon used in the crime has been found in his possession, they said.

The victim`s father Liyakat Wasa had lodged an FIR against unidentified assailants, but after investigation, the brother of the deceased was arrested, they said.

In another incident, a man allegedly strangulated his 40-year-old wife to death yesterday for opposing his relationship with another woman in Shamli district here.

The woman Saina`s brother Mustafa has lodged an FIR against her husband Shafkat, they said, adding that the investigation in the case is on.
