Election for RS seat in Uttarakhand on March 30

Dehradun: The election for the lone Rajya Sabha seat from Uttarakhand will be held on March 30.
State Chief Electoral Officer Radha Raturi on Saturday said the notification for the biennial election would be issued on March 12.
The seat is currently being held by Congress leader Satyavrat Chaturvedi whose tenure expires on April 2, she said.

While the last date of filing of nomination is March 19, the scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on March 20.

As
per the programme issued, the candidates can withdraw their nominations till March 22 and the polling would be held on March 30.
